"Duplicate our street kids program throughout
the Americas!"
|
 |
| |
Our second
center opened in March, 2004, in the mountain city of
Cajamarca, Peru. where the street children are even poorer
than those we know in Trujillo, and are almost entirely
Incas, rather than the mestiza children in Trujillo. They
are harder to reach. |

A
week in Ecuador and northern Peru
Bruce and Ana Tere visited two cities in Ecuador, Machala,
in the south, and Ambato in the north, with a view to
opening our project in one of them. The Mayor's offices
of both offered property and cooperation if we would locate
our street kids project in their city. We are favoring
the northern city of Ambato, both because we have friends
and fellow workers for street children there and because
the mayor immediately offered us the use of an appropriate
property - a large house in the middle of a childrens
park.On the way back we stopped in Tumbes and Piura, where
we are discussing possibilities for after we stabelize
our new Peruvian project in Cajamarca. |
